Happy Halloween!

Halloween is my favorite holiday, like, EVER! So what did I do this Halloween? Nothing . . . Yet. I was supposed to go out and party on Saturday night but the snow ruined my plans. I had a great costume too! A Spider Queen. What is that, you ask? Well, let me explain it for you. My crown was a giant spider with long legs. I had a purple-sequined masquerade mask. My eyes were going to be a dark purple smoky-eye with thick fake eyelashes. My lips were going to be done up in nothing but purple sequins to match my mask. I was also going to “glue” two little fake spiders on my face. One on my jaw line and the other near my mask. My outfit was simple. Black shirt with a cobweb drawn on it, a black tutu with purple lace, black leggings, black and grey striped knee socks with spiders dangling off the sides, and black pumps. But it never happened. Maybe next year.

But my Halloween hasn’t been completely ruined. Why, you ask? Well, see these guys to the right? They're doing their live Halloween investigation at Pennhurts State School and Hospital better known as Pennhusrt Insane Asylum. And guess whose cousin is a co-owner. Mine is. So because he loves me so much, he’s getting us in before Ghost Hunters goes live so we can meet the people from the show. I’M SOOOOOO EXCITED‼ The only thing that sucks is I have work at 5:30am today and tomorrow. Don’t worry, I’m sleeping right now. Thank God I scheduled this to post at 12:01am. So anyway, Pennhurst is creepy enough during the day and at night it’s insanely dark so I suggest going to see it either during the day or on a cloudless night. Now I will leave you with some pictures. The first one is an original picture of how big Pennhurst actually is. The other pictures are present day ones. Enjoy! And have a safe and happy Halloween‼

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off I have to say that when I first started reading this book I stopped at page 52 because I got extremely bored. I could only literally read one page in a sitting and even then I had to force myself to finish it. So the after a year of it sitting in my ever-growing "currently reading" pile, I picked it back up and had to force myself to put it down. I even stayed up until 4:30am to finish it. It was a great read. I can't wait to dive into Catching Fire.

Babe in BoylandBabe in Boyland by Jody Gehrman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was soo cute. I've read some reviews on it saying how it reminded some of the movie She's The Man so I'm really happy I've never seen that movie so I could enjoy the book for what it's worth. After reading this, I realized that there are two sides to me too. Maybe even more. But I'm definitely different while flirting with guys than I am when just hanging out with my friends. Never knew that. Great read!

Colin Preston Rocked and RolledColin Preston Rocked and Rolled by Bert Murray

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I tried so hard to finish this book. I couldn't do it. It's not a genre I typically read either. Some of the grammar was bad but to the author's defense, he might have wanted it that way. I hated Jasmine. I knew she was a cheater the minute she was introduced into the story. Karl was a douche and it made me angry Colin couldn't see that sooner. Colin got on my nerves . . . a lot. The way he acted reminded me of a girl. I truly wish I would have enjoyed this book more but I'm not even sure what the plot was . . .

If I Stay (If I Stay, #1)If I Stay by Gayle Forman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such an amazing story. Sad, heart-wrenching, amazing! I read the last few pages aloud to get the full affect of Gayle's writing. Reading aloud brought Mia's struggle out. Tears treatened to spill down my cheeks (I'm not one to cry during a sad book or movie so you know this one was good). I cannot wait to start reading Where She Went.

A Little Birthday Giveaway

Hello there, Elemental Reality fans. Traci here, one of Cesya's betas
& bestest friends.

In honor of Callie's & Lola's birthdays, and because I'm quite wonderful, I've decided to let Cesya give away an autographed Divergent poster I had Veronica Roth sign for me at Comic Con this past July.

If you're not familiar, Divergent is a young adult novel about a girl named Beatrice whose dystopian Chicago is divided into 5 factions--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On a specific day each year, all 16 year olds must choose to either stay in the faction they were raised in, or choose a new one, which means leaving their families and all they have ever known behind.

Beatrice makes a choice that surprises everyone--most of all herself, and becomes known as Tris during the insanely competitive initiation process into her new faction. She struggles to trust anyone, including the boy who ends up stealing her heart, and to keep a secret that could mean her death if revealed.

Divergent quickly became my absolute favorite young adult novel the minute I was done reading it (ER was still being written at this time, mind you) and I highly suggest you hop on this train ASAP, especially since the movie rights have been purchased by Summit. I can hardly contain my excitement for book 2--Insurgent--which is due to come out next Spring.

Good luck in the contest!!!

The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3)The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was seriously the BEST series I've ever read! Words cannot describe how much I loved it. The descriptions alone had me shuddering because I could picture everything so vividly. How amazing would it be if this series became a movie? I'd be fangirling it left and right. There is not one thing I disliked about this book. I even loved the ending because it has you coming up with your own future for everyone, and let me tell you the future I see for them is a bright one. I can't wait to dive right into The Gathering now!
